Giraudi is an example of creativity, craftsmanship and passion, what we can define as true characteristics of Made in Italy. Born in Piedmont, in a small town near Alessandria at the beginning of the twentieth century, thanks to passion and effort of determined and creative men, over the last twenty years, Giraudi has become a renowned and appreciated reality for the production of high quality artisanal chocolate. The story of Giraudi is a journey between family and meetings. In 1907 in Castellazzo Bormida, Giovan Battista Giraudi opened his own business with a mill and an oven for bread making, in the meantime Paolino Boidi trained as a pastry chef at the Pasticceria Romano in Alessandria and at the end of the fifties took over a pastry shop in the center of Castellazzo Bormida. In the sixties Giraudi took over the Bar Vittoria in Corso Roma and began to experiment with recipes with chocolate. Mandrugnin, nugatelli and amaretti are the first stage of a path of growth and success. In 1982 Giacomo Boidi, nephew of Giraudi chocolatier and Boidi pastry chef, combined their respective arts, becoming the owner of the "Pasticceria Giraudi". Since the mid-nineties we have seen the results of so much tiring work thanks to the collaboration and discussion with important personalities in the world of food and wine and trusted collaborators. In 1993 the pastry shop moved to the center of Castellazzo Bormida , in the province of Alessandria. From this moment on, destiny changes: from a small artisan shop, “Pasticceria Giraudi” transforms into a more structured company, without being overwhelmed by popularity and maintaining its production at an artisanal level. > Giacomo Boidi invests all his enthusiasm, resources and creativity in this new adventure, and starting from the teachings of his uncles, excellent and generous teachers, he adds his own entrepreneurial spirit and ambition for a large project that brings excellent results : the growth in sales in Italy and abroad will be the further push to move forward, towards a new stage. In September 2005, Giraudi inaugurated the current laboratory, in an area away from the center of Castellazzo Bormida, equipped with a large open work space, a room for lessons and an elegant café and chocolate boutique to taste freshly made products. Another step towards growth, change and the desire to always offer the best service to its customers. We do not know what the next stage of this ultra-centenary journey will be, but it will be another success thanks to our loyal customers.
