Family From ancient winemaking origins, Tenute Grandi & Gabana were born in the Friuli-Latisana Doc territories. The name is due to the founder, Marcello Gabana, one of the first entrepreneurs to believe and invest with commitment and perseverance in the world of wine and unfortunately passed away prematurely. Today following the path of commitment and dedication indicated by him are his daughter Giulia and his wife Daniela who with renewed enthusiasm carry forward his work. Located in the heart of the production area of ??Friuli-Latisana Doc wines, the estate can currently count on a property of 350 hectares of land, of which approximately 100 are currently under vineyards, which extend over a calcareous and clayey soil typical of this area, ideal for the production of highly structured and aromatic wines. The love for this land and the passion for wine make Tenue Grandi & Gabana one of the most interesting wine producers in the area, which daily rediscovers the natural ability to produce and offer excellent wines to the public. Territory Harmony of flavors and atmosphere, the lands of the Friuli-Latisana DOC extend in the area south-west of Udine in an area with peculiar characteristics. The calcareous soil is made up of a single block, of which the clay fraction is predominant, and is then associated with a more or less high fraction of peat, which contributes to making the wine produced there unique in its kind. This also with the beneficial contribution of the climate which, thanks to the Julian Prealps to the north and the Adriatic Sea to the west, helps to mitigate the winters and make the hot summers more pleasant. Thanks to all this, the Friulian lands have become the ideal place for the cultivation of an indigenous single grape variety with unique qualities such as Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Friulano (what was once called Tocai) and Pinot Grigio, which give the palate important and unmistakable wines, a genuine expression of the territory from which they originate. Cellar Our cellar is the symbol of a company that draws vital energy from its history but also from its ability to renew itself. Originally built at the beginning of the century, it is currently equipped with modern equipment suitable for protecting the quality and typicality of the wine. High-tech winemaking and bottling systems never betray the desire to produce quality wines, made according to tradition. The harvesting of the bunches, the pressing, the controlled fermentation and the aging in lightly toasted French barriques mark the natural phases of a production path that has remained unchanged over time and firmly linked to the territory.
