Sauvignon Blanc Wairarapa 2011 (Biodynamic) Urlar New Zealand wines Products
PRODUCER'S NOTES: The vineyard is family owned and managed with pride. The vision is to produce extraordinary wines from single vineyards that reflect the characteristics of their origins. We believe that the only way to pursue this vision is to grow grapes and make wine using both organic and biodynamic principles. The goal is to get the best from the ancient soils where the Urlar vineyards are located so as to be able to discover the purity of flavor that is inherent in our land. The grapes were harvested at the peak of ripeness also based on the best conditions of the skins. To allow the purity of the flavors of the bunches that the vineyard can express, we have fermented most of our grapes in steel at low temperatures, the remainder of the grapes in old oak barrels which give complexity and consistency to the palate. From the combination of these parts comes a wine full of (tropical) fruit, balanced with a strong consistency, a “multi-dimensional” wine. The 2011 vintage gave the wine flavors of tangy gooseberry, passion fruit and citrus with a hint of pungent spice like chili pepper. Although it is a characteristic New Zealand sauvignon blanc the palate is full with great structure. The wine is suitable for all occasions and is particularly suited to seafood and fish-based dishes in general.Alcohol Vol.: 14% Acidity: 6.9 g/l Residual sugar: 3. 0 g/l Ph: 3.2 New Zealand wines Urlar URSB11
